Data export

You can take your records with you, anytime.

kalori is an iOS meal tracking app built for eating out and convenience stores. You can export your logged meals, weight and exercise data as a ZIP containing JSON plus per-table CSV files. It is free on every plan with no limit on how often you export. Your records remain after cancelling Premium, and exporting costs nothing extra.

The longer you log, the more your record grows. You can keep it in a form that opens in a spreadsheet, feeds your own analysis, or carries on in another service.

Exporting is done in the iOS app. After you verify with your Apple ID, the ZIP is in your hands within seconds.

What you can export

Everything you log in kalori comes out as these 11 groups. The JSON keeps the whole structure in one file; the CSVs split it one file per group. These are the actual filenames you receive.

profile.csv Body profile
Height, weight, date of birth and sex — the values your calorie target is calculated from.
weights.csv Weight log
Weight, body fat percentage and notes by date, from both manual entry and Apple Health.
meals.csv Meal log
Date, time slot, item name, calories, PFC, quantity, portion adjustments and the ingredient breakdown.
exercises.csv Exercise log
Date, type, calories burned, duration and notes.
goals.csv Goal history
Calorie and PFC targets, activity level, goal weight and start date — past goals included.
mealPlans.csv Per-meal budgets
The budgets you set yourself for breakfast, lunch, dinner and the rest.
favorites.csv Favourites
Saved products, dishes and your own foods, with the time slot you assigned.
clips.csv Clips
Items you clipped as "maybe later".
follows.csv Followed shops
The chains you follow to hear about their new items.
tasteRatings.csv Taste ratings
Your private star ratings and notes.
foods.csv Your own foods
Foods you registered or had analysed by AI — name, nutrition, breakdown and total grams.

Formats

JSON
One file that keeps the whole structure intact. Best for reusing the data in code.
CSV (per table)
Meals, weight and exercise split into separate CSV files. Opens directly in Excel or Google Sheets.
README
A plain-text file explaining what each file contains and what every column means.

Example CSV output

Your meal log (meals.csv) opened in a spreadsheet. The column names are exactly what you receive; only the values here are examples.

meals.csv
# date slot name calories protein fat carbs quantity
1 2026-04-12 breakfast Greek yogurt & granola 241 14.2 6.1 32.4 1
2 2026-04-12 lunch Grilled chicken rice bowl 486 24.3 12.1 70.0 1
3 2026-04-12 dinner Grilled mackerel set meal 712 38.5 27.4 77.9 1

The file also carries unit, portionRatio, components (ingredient breakdown) and recordedAt. The rows above are examples — your file contains exactly what you logged.

  1. 1

Open "My Page" in the iOS app

  2. 2

Export from the iOS app or the browser version (my.kalori.jp). It finishes in a few seconds.

Available for iPhone on iOS 18 or later.

What is not included

The export covers the data that works as a record of what you ate. The following are not included.

  • Meal photo files (the records themselves are included)
  • AI internal estimates and algorithm internals
  • Billing, authentication and chat-AI connection activity
  • Behavioural logs such as search and support history

If you need disclosure or deletion of all data linked to your account, please contact us.

So the record you build keeps being useful

A meal log becomes more personal the longer you keep it. Export is sometimes a paid-plan feature, and sometimes not offered at all. At kalori we made it free on every plan, so the record you build keeps being useful — to look back on in a spreadsheet, to analyse yourself, or to carry on somewhere else.

Frequently asked questions

Is exporting my data free?

Yes. It is free on every plan, with no limit on how often you export. You can export without a Premium subscription, and after cancelling one.

What formats do I get?

A ZIP containing JSON, per-table CSV files and a README explaining the contents. The CSVs open directly in Excel or Google Sheets.

I am looking for a nutrition app that lets me export my data. Does kalori?

Yes. kalori exports your meals, weight, exercise, goals, favourites and registered foods as a ZIP with JSON plus per-table CSV files. It is free on every plan, and you verify with your Apple ID before the export runs.

Will my records disappear if I cancel Premium?

No. Your records stay, and exporting remains free.

Can I import the exported data into another app?

CSV is a common tabular format, so you can open and reshape it in a spreadsheet. Whether another service reads it directly depends on the formats that service accepts.

Can I export my photos too?

Meal photo files are not currently included in the export. The records attached to those photos (item name, calories, PFC and so on) are included.

Why do I have to verify with my Apple ID?

The ZIP contains your meal and weight records, so we ask you to verify it is you before it leaves the app.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Records tied to your account — meals, photos, goals and so on — are deleted. The one exception is that if you were connected to a gym or trainer, that conversation is kept for three years as a coaching record and for dispute handling (Privacy Policy, Article 5). If you want to keep your records, we recommend exporting before you delete. Deletion is also done from My Page in the app.
