Terms of Service — iOS App Addendum
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Back to common Terms of Service
This English translation is provided for reference only. The Japanese version is the authoritative and legally binding version.
This addendum supplements the common Terms of Service for use of the kalori iOS app. In case of conflict between the common Terms and this addendum, this addendum prevails for iOS use.
Article A1 (App Store and Apple EULA)
The iOS app is distributed through the Apple App Store. In addition to the common Terms and this addendum, Apple Inc.'s "Licensed Application End User License Agreement" (EULA) applies. In case of conflict, Apple's EULA prevails.
Apple Inc. is not the provider of the App and bears no responsibility for it (Apple is a third-party beneficiary of the EULA and may enforce it).
Article A2 (Subscriptions / Paid Plans)
The App is free to use. An optional Premium subscription, which provides additional features, is offered through Apple StoreKit.
- Each plan renews automatically for the displayed subscription period unless you cancel it through the App Store
- Pricing, subscription periods, payment timing, cancellation, refunds, and purchase offers are shown on the purchase screen and in the Commercial Transactions Disclosure
- A purchase trial or other introductory offer applies only when the purchase screen shows your eligibility and the offer period, and converts to a paid subscription under the displayed terms
- Deleting your kalori account does not automatically cancel your App Store subscription
Article A3 (Permissions)
The App uses the following iOS permissions, requested via the standard OS dialogs:
- Camera: capturing meal and menu photos
- Photo Library: selecting existing photos
- Location (While Using): finding nearby stores. The App does not continuously track your location
- HealthKit: with your permission, reads step count, active energy, body weight, and body fat percentage to update exercise-calorie and weight records. Only if you turn on “Export to Apple Health” and allow writing, the App writes the calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrates of the meals you log, and your body weight, to HealthKit
Each permission can be revoked anytime via iOS Settings. Disabling some permissions may limit related features.
Article A4 (Push Notifications)
The App may display meal-reminder and other notifications (currently local notifications generated on-device). You can disable them via iOS Settings > Notifications.
Article A5 (AI Analysis Limits)
AI analysis may be subject to usage limits based on your plan or other conditions. Current limits and any conditions for additional use are displayed in the App.
Article A6 (IP Claims)
For intellectual-property claims regarding content in the App, please contact contact@kalori.jp. We will review the claim and respond appropriately.
Article A7 (Plans)
The App is free to download and start using. Browsing features — product search and browsing the convenience-store / restaurant database — are free, and subscribing to the Premium plan is optional.
New accounts can use Premium features free for seven days from registration. This registration benefit is not a subscription and does not result in an automatic charge when it ends.
Some or all newly added features may be available only on the Premium plan.
